Confirmation

Confirmation, together with Baptism and Eucharist, form the Sacraments of Initiation that are all intimately connected.

In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is “sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit” and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. –The USCCB
If you are an adult who was baptized in another Christian tradition and would like to become Catholic, or if you were baptized Catholic but for whatever reason did not yet receive confirmation, please see our page on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.

For Teens 9th grade and older

*Confirmation Prep –  is a two-year preparation at our parish. More detailed information will be available at the confirmation orientation to be held at the beginning of the fall semester. For additional information, please call the youth ministry office 372-8600 extension 131 or email us at Stateens@gmail.com.

*Confirmation Retreat – Can be an overnight experience in which the retreat sessions are all focused on Confirmation and God’s unconditional love. Throughout the retreat, confirmandi will have an opportunity to engage in small groups, listen to talks, play and praise God through prayer and song or a one day. See calendar for upcoming dates.

*Service Projects – We are all called to be the hands and feet of Christ! Each confirmand is to complete service projects of their choice and write in their handbook their reflection on their service and its impact.

*Sponsor and Candidate Work Book – The sponsor and confirmand relationship is a special one. Sponsors are important and an integral part of their confirmation journey. The Sponsor and Candidate Work Book were created so that neither time, nor distance could stand in the way of spending this meaningful time together. The sponsor and confirmand will have an opportunity to pray, talk, and reflect with one another. This Sponsor and Candidate Work Book may be done in person over dinner or via Skype!

If you need more information about Confirmation, please download this form, fill it out and drop it at the front office.
